We're expecting # 2 on December 7th

Well for all of you who do not know yet. I thought I should make an announcement, I AM PREGNANT! My due date is December 7th (anniversary of pearl harbor). I am 12 weeks pregnant and man I had a rough time the last few weeks. Well it all started around 8 weeks so its been almost a month now. I have been throwing up a lot. Abby has been pretty good about it, except for the hitting me on the head with the toilet lid as my head is over it. It's actually funny now that I think about it. Anyways I am started to feel better and when I do have a bad day the doctor prescribed me some medication to take to help. Also I am one of those lucky people who show really fast and get really big so I am starting to show. Maybe I will put a picture on here we will see.
I love to read about pregnancy stuff while I am pregnant so I get these emails everyday about my pregnancy. Right now the baby is 2 and a half inches long and is about a half an ounce. Tiny little guy but he seams to be hanging in there.
As for everything else. Abby has pied in the toilet 5 times now and she will tell me when she needs to go. It's hard to potty train. I forget a lot to take her in to go and sometimes she just wont. I don't want to force her because then she just wont do it. So hopefully by the time she is 2 we'll have her potty trained. If not that is fine to. I am just glad that she is interested this early. It makes me hopeful that when the new baby comes I will only have to change one diaper.

Abby peed in the toilet twice.

I still can't believe it, but yes Abby pied in the toilet twice yesterday. She asked to go potty so I took her to the bathroom. We sat and sat and sat and nothing. So I went to take her off and she said pee again so I put her back on. Again we sat and sat and sat and nothing. So, I took her off again and she said pee again. So I thought, I will try one more time and if she doesn't I will just take her out of the room and distract her with something else. Then all of a sudden she got this serious look on her face and she pied. I was so excited. Abby just smiled kind of shocked. We celebrated and then in about an hour and a half she asked to go again and sure enough she went again. This time she just laughed when she pied. She is such a silly kid sometimes.
We haven't had any luck today but I'm sure it will be like this for a while until she grasps the concept that we only pee in the toilet. Well that is our exciting news for the day.

My little helper

Abby always likes to help no matter what I am doing. Sometimes she tries to help and just gets in the way. These are pictures of Abby helping put the dishes away. She loved it. I try to let her help whenever I can. She gets upset if I don't.

Some other cute things Abby can do now. I say a prayer over every meal and Abby started to notice that Rob and I fold our arms. So, Rob showed her how and now all I have to do is tell Abby we are going to pray and she will shake her head yes and fold her arms. She keeps them folded during the whole prayer. It is so cute. I didn't realize that she would be able to do something like that this young.

Also about two weeks ago Abby started to say Mama pee and point to her diaper. So I would change her and sure enough every time she had peed (this made for a lot of wasted diapers because I was having to change her way more often). She would even grab some toilet paper and try to wipe. One day she pointed to the toilet and said Mama pee. So I decided maybe she is ready to potty train. So I went and bought a little padded seat that sits on the toilet that is small enough for her little bum. She loves to sit on the toilet and go pee. She hasn't actually done anything yet but we keep trying. She does like to wipe though. I think she might like the fact that she gets to sit on the toilet and put paper in it more then just sitting on it. Hopefully some day she gets it. I am trying not to push her so I ask her if she wants to go potty and sure enough every time she does. I am sure one day she will be sick of it. I am just hoping that she pees once before that happens so that she gets why I am doing this. Also hopefully I can get her trained before her 2nd birthday. We'll see. If not that is ok too.

Bean Museum

We took Abby to the Bean museum a couple of weeks ago. For those who don't know, the Bean museum is on B.Y.Us campus. It's a wildlife museum with taxidermy animals from all around the world. Here are some pictures of the trip. She seamed interested in the children more then the animals.

Abby on the pony

The Animal Farm!

On Saturday Thanksgiving point had an even were you could pet the baby animals. So we took Abby because she LOVES animals. Well until you get close to one. She acted weird about it the whole time. Oh well it was good exposure for her.
This is a picture of Abby look at the sheep it moved close to her and she backed away. She wouldn't even touch the fence. Can't blame her though the animal is twice her size. If an animal twice my size started to move towards me I would back away too.

This is how they let you pet the baby animals. Wow that's exciting!! You can I guess stick you hand through the fence and pet them. I guess this was the best they could do. There was a lot of people around and it would be hard to let the kids come up and pet a free baby animal.
I tried to get pictures of Abby's face in these. It was a little difficult so I apologize.

Rob was trying to get Abby to let the baby animal ( I think it was a goat) eat a piece of corn off of her hand. It just kept falling out of her hand before the baby goat would get to it. Oh well he tried. I think Abby would have freaked out if he had actually touched her though. So good thing.

Rob showing Abby how to feed the baby goat.

There are three new posts so keep scrulling down.

My little Snow White

Abby has a Snow White costume. Keili gave it to her. She didn't care too much for it at first. But I brought it home and now she likes to ware it. She looks really cute in it.

Abby watching BAABEE! (baby Abby) on the TV

Abby started one day pointing at the computer and saying Baabee. So I started showing her videos of herself and I realized that she was trying to tell me that she wanted to see baby Abby. Rob and I haven't got out of the habit of calling her baby Abby. So Abby refers to her self as Baabee. That is baby Abby as one word. At least to Abby. She only separates them when I keep telling her Abby then she will say Abby and some times baby Abby.
This is a video of what it looks like when she is watching Baabee on the TV or computer. It's actually really cute to see her look at herself. She looks up at me all the time like she does on the video. Fun stuff.

This is what happens when a 15 mth old tries to help with the laundry. She mad a game of it.

I haven't been good at keeping up on the laundry so Abby and I spent one whole day doing it. Well all of it still isn't put away but I got them washed and dried. There are only two loads out of like 6 that need to be put away. Anyways, this video is the after math of struggling with a 15 mth old girl to allow me to put the clean laundry back in the basket. As you can see she won. Well actually I just thought she was so cute pushing it around so I filmed her doing it. It took me about 15 to 20 minutes for her to be done with pushing the basket around long enough for me to put laundry in it. She was very helpful with that part. She would grab the nicely folded laundry and chuck it in the basket. There goes my folding job. But hey she had lots of fun and she was helping.
You know I've been thinking a lot about being a Mom lately. It's the most rewarding thing I have ever been through in my life. There are MANY more enjoyable times then crapy times. I read the Ensign article this month from the first presidency about parenting. It made me think more and more about how greatful I am to be a Mom and having such a great little girl. I have decided to more appreciative of the little things that Abby does like destroying my folded laundry. This stuff is so easy to fix it's not worth getting upset about. Just laugh and have fun is what I am trying to do more of. Abby has actually stopped acting up as much.

This is a picture of Abby with her friend Carissa. She is a cute girl. Carissa is 3 weeks older then Abby. It is so cute to see them play together. P.S. check out Abby's shoes. I think they are so cute. She loves them too. She requests to wear them all the time. I finally taught her how to put them on herself. Now she wears them all the time. They don't match a lot of the time but hey she can put them on all by herself.

Abby loves to be outside. All day yesterday during conference she wanted outside. She would walk over to the door and YELL MOM...MOM...MOM until she felt like she had my attention. She would then pound on the door to show me that she wanted outside. It was hard to teacher her that we are watching conference and we will go outside when it is over. This picture to the right is a picture of her with my keys trying to unlock the door.

Abby loves to look at the ducks that we have in the pond behind black horse run. She just stairs at them and points every once in a while, It's cute. She also likes to look at the horses that are across the street. Abby and I have had a lot of fun exploring things lately so I thought I would share some of them.

NO SOCKS PLEASE

Abby is such a funny little girl. She will not stand for socks to be on her feet while she sleeps. Here is a picture of her after she had pulled them off.

This picture is of Abby dragging her favorite blanket behind her. She has to have this blanket to go to sleep. It has this triangle edge. She sucks on them. It is so funny but hey what ever helps her go to sleep is fine with me. I just think it's cute that she drags it behind her. She use to trip over it but she has learned to make sure it drags behind her before she starts walking. She walks around it when it's in the way.

Friends

So Abby has a new friend. His name is Garrett. Matt and Amy might know his parents. I don't even know there name. She is Latin and he is white. He works in construction and she works as an accountant. They live about 2 buildings down from us.
Anyways, he is outside at least as much as Abby. So they see each other a lot. They actually play well together. I am trying to get her more friends around her age. Most of the parents I know they children are 2 or 3.

I also meet with a friend of mine names Janelle. She has a daughter named is Carissa. She attends the spanish branch. Carissa is only 3 weeks older then Abby so they play really well together.
Well, back to these pictures. Abby in this one is holding Garrett's broom. It took him a while to get her to give that back to her. At least there not in the stage were everything is theres. Anyways I thought these were cute pictures that you guys would like to see.

Rob and I no longer have a calling!

Yep, Sunday we met with our bishop and he released us from being language missionaries. I feel really bad but we are excited. We just haven't felt like we have been contributing much lately. Plus 1:00 pm church is the worst time in the world to have church. It has been really hard with Abby because she takes her nap around the time we go to church. Because of daylight savings she has been taking her naps at around 12:30. That put her in her crib when I am suppose to be getting her ready for church. Rob and I personally think that the best time for church is at 9:00 am. At least when you have a family. Anyways, back to our calling. They didn't give us a new assignment. He told us he was going to give us at least 2 weeks to rest. Sounds good to me. Not that we really did a whole lot to need resting.

Ribbit!

I taught Abby how to jump like a frog. She loved it so much. She doesn't do it very good. That's ok though she tries. It's cute to see her do it .

Abby's new cousin

Matt and Amy had there baby on Friday. Rob and I took Abby on Sunday to see him. She loved him. She wanted to hold him and kiss him. So I had Matt take a picture of Abby with Preston. I should have turned Preston towards the camera. I didn't think about it until now. Oh well.

CHOCOLATE!!!!!

So last week was Abby's real taste for chocolate. I am sure she has had a little sliver when she was little but this was the first time that she actually could hold it and eat it on her own. Anyways, she was a chocolate freak!! All she wanted was chocolate.
Tahnee came over last Friday and we put candy in Easter eggs. Tahnee gave Abby a piece of chocolate and that was the end of eating real food. All she wanted was chocolate. She would point to the chocolate and say Mama Mama over and over again. She has radar for chocolate. She could see it even if I couldn't. She definitely takes after me in that area. Rob does not like it.
Everyday for about 4 days she requested chocolate when she saw her Easter basket. It was tough to teach her she can't eat chocolate ALL DAY LONG! Well all the chocolate is gone and she doesn't ask for it anymore, THANK YOU FOR THAT. I was getting tired of dealing with a fussy kid about an hour or two after she ate chocolate. She also loves candy. I honestly thought she didn't like sweets. I was so excited about that because I am addicted to sweets, mostly ice cream. Then Easter came and now it's candy this and candy that. She will not be getting an Easter basket from the Easter bunny this year. I am writing him a note to make sure. Rob says I am a mean Mom when it comes to candy. Oh well I am just looking out for her health.

Finger painting

So I bought some finger paints for Abby. I thought she would enjoy finger painting. Nope, she hated it. She usually dislikes most things at first though, then they grow on her. Here are some pictures of my first attempt to get Abby to finger paint. The very first thing that she did was scream and show me her hands because she didn't like the paint on them. I had to get her out and clean them off in the sink.

I then got out a paint brush and showed her how to
use it. She played with that for a while. Then finally she was willing to try it again. So I put her in the booster seat, slid her up to the table and showed her how to do it again. As you can tell in the top right picture she still didn't enjoy it much. Basically in order for her to paint I had to have lots of wipes on hand. She would paint then notice that she had something on her hand. She would then hold it up to me and I would have to wipe it off her hands. Then she would start the process all over again. This happened about 8 or 9 times before she finally just gave up on wiping her hands off and just played for a little while. As you can see in this picture to the right she just held her hands up as to not touch the paint.
I let her paint for about 5 or so minutes then I just cleaned her off.
I am sure she will enjoy this in the future it's just so new and she is a clean freak. She has to have things in places they are suppose to go and if something is in her way she will just chuck it behind her. For example: Rob for some reason stacks his or my belongings that are suppose to go upstairs, on the stairs. It drives me crazy. Anyways, if Abby is trying to climb the stairs she will just pick the items up and throw them behind her. Some of the items that Rob stacks on the stairs is mail (such as bills). Yep Abby just throws them down the stairs. It's actually funny to watch her do this.
Well back to the painting.
I decided to show Abby finger painting because I read online that it's good at this age to start teaching them art skills. They said that if it's possible to do an art activity with them everyday. So I'm starting to do this with Abby. They also talked about doing puzzles with her and building things with her.
I read during Abby's nap time on the internet about what things I can do to help Abby learn. I have newsletters sent form different websites. Some of the websites I visit or have emails sent to me are: Huggies.com, Pampers.com, whattoexpect.com, familyeducation.com. Fisherprice.com My favorite link is
http://www.whattoexpect.com/toddler/index.aspx
I like it so much because they have stuff for all ages. It's nice to read month to month about what things your child will like and learn from. Anyways, enough said. This might possibly be my longest blog entry. Anyways by for now.

I've posted two new posts so make sure you scroll down

Abby and Kempton

My brothers little boy Kempton is 2 mths younger then Abby. He just turned one. Here are some way cute pictures of the two of them playing with his birthday present.

Also Abby found one of Kempton's cowboy boots and put it on. So I found the other one and put it on her other foot. She was so excited. She kept looking at her feet and stomping because they made noise when she walked. So we put her on the pony and she just went to town. Here are some cute pictures of her on the pony and the boots.

Aren't these the cutest pictures ever? Maybe I just like them so much because I grew up around horses and my Dad is a cowboy. Yee Haw Abby.
It was so funny. She was about to fall of the pony because she was rocking it so hard. Go Abby!!

Abby had a bad fall!!

Well yesterday Abby had a bad fall. We were playing at the play ground by our house. She slipped and fell off the side of the stairs. She fell about 3 feet then banged her head on the corner of the bottom step. She instantly had a goose egg. I put some antibiotic ointment on it then a band aide. It doesn't look as bad today, but its not pretty. She also has about 6 bruises on her knees from crawling up and down the stairs to get to the slide.
I have Abby's 12 mth Well child check up scheduled for tomorrow and Abby is going to look like I hit her. She has so many bruises right now. At least they are on her knees and forehead. Anyways here is a picture of her lovely bruise. I know this will be one of many more to come. I just feel so bad every time she gets hurt. I feel like I should have been there to catch her before she fell.
The one time that I wasn't standing right there to catch her is when she fell. Isn't that the way it always is.

This video is of her climbing the stairs and going down the slide. If you watch she doesn't climb to the next step she just kind of throws her body to the next step. This is why she has so many bruises on her knees. Blogger wouldn't let me do them as one video so I split them up. The top is the first half and the bottom is the second.

Jumpin Jacks

Abby and I went to a place called Jumpin Jacks. They have a bunch of blow up slides. It was a lot of fun. Abby didn't like it at first. She just cried. After about 45 minutes. She started to like it. Here are some pictures of our adventure.

It was a lot of fun. Except I think I got the flu from going there. We went on Saturday after
noun and Sunday after noun I had chills and a fever. I am still sick so next time I will take some sanitizing stuff and wipe off our hands often.
