Megan is 4 weeks old! Can you believe it?

Christmas

We had an interesting Christmas this year. We had planned to go to Rob's family in the morning then go to mine later that day. We ended up not going to ether because of bad weather. It was a Christmas at home this year. Yesturday we went to Rob's family and had a late Christmas dinner and opened and exchanged gifts. It was fun.
Abby had a fun Christmas she got a little mommy set that comes with a stroller , a car seat, and a bassinet for her baby. It also came with a new baby and diaper bag. She played with her new toys all day. Santa Claus also gave her Sleeping Beauty for Christmas.
Grandma and Grandpa field gave Abby a little people doll house. She loves it by the way. She carries the baby around and plays with the furniture in the doll house. She also got a new very cute sweater and shirt that match Megan's new sweater and shirt. Rob and I got some great gifts to all of which we love. It was a good Christmas for us. I'll put up pictures later.

The girls

Christmas dresses

We finally took pictures of Abby and Megan in there Christmas dresses. Abby did not cooperate very well for us to get a really good picture of her and Megan together. She wouldn't even sit alone for us to get one of just her. We are going to attempt it again though. We did get some very cute ones of Megan. At least we think so.

Megan's 2 week well child check

Megan had her two week check up yesterday and I just had to make a post about it. I have been concerned for 2 weeks now about her eating enough. She eats every 3 to 4 hours because I wake her up. Sometimes she will not wake up until 6 hours and does not eat for very long. So basically I was worried that she was going to be less then her birth weight. Well they weighed her and she is 11 lbs 14 ozs. Wow! I don't need to worry anymore. She has well exceded her birth weight. So now I have just been letting her eat when she tells me. She only wakes up once at night to eat. I feel so blessed to have such great kids.

Megan was born on Dec. 1st

Well, I was scheduled to be induced on Monday morning and at about 1:30am I was laying in bed and all of a sudden I felt pressure then a pop and water started to leak out. Well to make this short my water did break I had to go to sit on the toilet for a while before I could get dressed. I finally had to just get dressed and wear a pad to catch some of it leaking out. The funny part of this story is that Rob had just climbed into bed at about 1:00 pm ( he's a night owl ).

We headed to the hospital and they tested it and sure enough it was my water. So they called my doctor and he wanted them to wait and see if my body would dilate on it's own. On the way to the hospital I started to have contractions. Well I did dilate but it was slow about 1 cm an hour. I did ask for an epidural right away. I did not want to have to suffer through the contractions, I am a big baby. I finally got to almost a ten and stopped progressing. I had what they called a lip all the way around my cervix. At this point I could feel my contractions. They started to get painful, tolerable but still hurting. They would not give me another dose of the epidural because I was almost a ten. Well, three hours later and after putting me on pitocin and continually increasing it. I finally made it to a ten. By this point I could feel all of the pain, well I think I did because it hurt so bad. As soon as I started to push it felt so much better. Megan was facing the wrong was so my doctor had to turn her. I have never pushed so hard in my life. Finally at 1:14 pm she was born. My very last push was the last strength I had left in me. She did come out vaginally and was healthy and no broken bones on delivery. I only had a level one episiotemy as well.
Well, she weighted 9 pounds 13 ounces. She was 21 inches long. She is beautiful and we love her so very much.
