So I bought some finger paints for Abby. I thought she would enjoy finger painting. Nope, she hated it. She usually dislikes most things at first though, then they grow on her. Here are some pictures of my first attempt to get Abby to finger paint. The very first thing that she did was scream and show me her hands because she didn't like the paint on them. I had to get her out and clean them off in the sink.
I then got out a paint brush and showed her how to use it. She played with that for a while. Then finally she was willing to try it again. So I put her in the booster seat, slid her up to the table and showed her how to do it again. As you can tell in the top right picture she still didn't enjoy it much. Basically in order for her to paint I had to have lots of wipes on hand. She would paint then notice that she had something on her hand. She would then hold it up to me and I would have to wipe it off her hands.
I let her paint for about 5 or so minutes then I just cleaned her off. I am sure she will enjoy this in the future it's just so new and she is a clean freak. She has to have things in places they are suppose to go and if something is in her way she will just chuck it behind her.
Well back to the painting.
I read during Abby's nap time on the internet about what things I can do to help Abby learn. I have newsletters sent form different websites. Some of the websites I visit or have emails sent to me are: Huggies.com, Pampers.com, whattoexpect.com, familyeducation.com. Fisherprice.com My favorite link is
http://www.whattoexpect.com/toddler/index.aspx
I like it so much because they have stuff for all ages. It's nice to read month to month about what things your child will like and learn from. Anyways, enough said. This might possibly be my longest blog entry. Anyways by for now.

Haha, that's so funny that Rob stacks stuff on the stairs. Mom always did that. Drove me crazy, too ;-)
I did that for a reason...it was to remind you to TAKE YOUR STUFF UPSTAIRS WITH YOU THE NEXT TIME YOU GO UP!! I still do it, and Bekah walks past the stuff at least 10 times a day. It doesn't seem to occur to her to actually pick the stuff up and take it up with her. (Even though I have ever so gently suggested that she do so - on numerous occasions!)
So Mindy, you have me to blame for Rob's annoying stair stacking habit.
It's good that you are letting Abby experience a lot of different things. Even if she doesn't like them, it's good for her to at least try them out. You never know what she might really take to!
Yeah, The funny thing about Rob stacking stuff is he says he does it so that he will take them upstairs too. He NEVER does. They stay there for weeks. I don't mind that he does it so much if he would do what his says he will and take them up the next time he goes upstairs. Well I really shouldn't be saying much because I just walk past the stuff too.
