Abby and Kempton

My brothers little boy Kempton is 2 mths younger then Abby. He just turned one. Here are some way cute pictures of the two of them playing with his birthday present.

Also Abby found one of Kempton's cowboy boots and put it on. So I found the other one and put it on her other foot. She was so excited. She kept looking at her feet and stomping because they made noise when she walked. So we put her on the pony and she just went to town. Here are some cute pictures of her on the pony and the boots.

Aren't these the cutest pictures ever? Maybe I just like them so much because I grew up around horses and my Dad is a cowboy. Yee Haw Abby.
It was so funny. She was about to fall of the pony because she was rocking it so hard. Go Abby!!

Abby had a bad fall!!

Well yesterday Abby had a bad fall. We were playing at the play ground by our house. She slipped and fell off the side of the stairs. She fell about 3 feet then banged her head on the corner of the bottom step. She instantly had a goose egg. I put some antibiotic ointment on it then a band aide. It doesn't look as bad today, but its not pretty. She also has about 6 bruises on her knees from crawling up and down the stairs to get to the slide.
I have Abby's 12 mth Well child check up scheduled for tomorrow and Abby is going to look like I hit her. She has so many bruises right now. At least they are on her knees and forehead. Anyways here is a picture of her lovely bruise. I know this will be one of many more to come. I just feel so bad every time she gets hurt. I feel like I should have been there to catch her before she fell.
The one time that I wasn't standing right there to catch her is when she fell. Isn't that the way it always is.

This video is of her climbing the stairs and going down the slide. If you watch she doesn't climb to the next step she just kind of throws her body to the next step. This is why she has so many bruises on her knees. Blogger wouldn't let me do them as one video so I split them up. The top is the first half and the bottom is the second.

Jumpin Jacks

Abby and I went to a place called Jumpin Jacks. They have a bunch of blow up slides. It was a lot of fun. Abby didn't like it at first. She just cried. After about 45 minutes. She started to like it. Here are some pictures of our adventure.

It was a lot of fun. Except I think I got the flu from going there. We went on Saturday after
noun and Sunday after noun I had chills and a fever. I am still sick so next time I will take some sanitizing stuff and wipe off our hands often.

PLAY-DOH!

Abby and I visited my sister Nicole and her kids today. Nicole pulled out some Play-Doh and let Abby dig in. She thought it was neat. She didn't do much with it. That's to be expected though. She is only one. She tried to eat it and spit it out immediately because of the nasty taste. She didn't attempt that again. Nicole said that letting kids play with Play-Doh helps them develop there writing skills. So why not. Its not that hard to clean up.

My parents also came up this weekend to see us. This is a picture of Abby just chilling with my Dad. She sat there for a while like this. She was content with just sitting there next to my Dad. Rob and I thought that this was strange because she wont even sit like this with us. The only reason she would is if she was tired and she was not tired at this time. So apparently she is OK with my Dad. There are not many people that she is OK with.

OH and P.S. I got some pictures taken of Abby at JCPenny. She was a stinker and only cracked a smile in one picture. They will be sending me a link for you all to see them if you want to. I will email it to you when they give it to me. They turned out cute even though she would not smile.

Just some photos and a video of Abby

These are pictures of Abby going to church on Sunday. She insists on caring this like a purse and she insists on walking to the car instead of being carried. Which is fine.

This is an empty milk carton that Abby carried around for a while. She started to bang me in the head with it and it got taken away. She as not very happy. Oh P.S. she is wearing the dress she got for Christmas. She had a huge growth spurt and can fit into both of the dresses now. They are way cute on her too.

Abby has this new fascination with putting on shoes and taking them off. She is really close to being able to do it herself. This is a picture of her undoing her shoe. She at least three times a day will grab a shoe and have me put the shoe on for her. She will mismatch them and even put shoes on over her pajamas that have the feet in them (sleeper pajamas). She is a funny kid.

A brake from the snow. Yeah!

It was finally warm enough and not snowing to go outside with Abby. We usually take a little walk to the mail box, but today Abby played outside. She had so much fun. She likes walking through the snow and walking up and down the sidewalk. She also liked to sit on the door step. While we were outside one of the people who lives just down from us kind of near were Matt and Amy use to live, came walking out of his back yard. Abby noticed and started waving and saying hi. Not load enough for him to hear. Next thing I new she was running towards the guy saying hi. He never noticed but I did get a video of her standing staring in his direction saying hi and waving. In the video she started to yell to. It was funny at the time.

Also there was a baptism in the Spanish Branch on Sunday. This makes 5 total baptisms sense we started this calling. It's been a neat experience honestly, hard but neat. Here is the picture of them. There names are Sarah and Ester. Sarah is about my age. She can speak English. Her mom can only speak Spanish. It was a great baptism and we are glad to have them in the branch now. Well that is all the news here. Enjoy the pictures and the video of Abby.

Too much snow! We had to be creative.

Click to play

I've been going crazy cooped up in the house. It snowed here every day last week and is continuing to do the same this week. Abby has been bored playing with the same old same old. So I went outside and grabbed her picnic table, brought it in and cleaned it up. Abby loved it. She wanted to sit on it before it was even cleaned off. I should have taken a picture of it with all of the snow piled on top. There was like 2 feet . OK so not that much but it was a lot I cleaned all the snow off and sterilized it with sanitizing wipes. Then I let it dry for a while. Now Abby is playing with it and is loving it.
When I first brought it in and had it partially cleaned she kept pushing me out of the way so that she could sit at it. She can climb in and out all by herself. She sits so perfectly at it. So I have been making good use of it the last couple of days. She draws on it. plays with her toys at it. It has even become a jungle jim, which is not safe in any way, but she is having fun so I just watch her closely. That is our story with the picnic table. Dave and Kathleen thanks for the table.

Rob has a new Job!

We have had a rough time lately. Just before Christmas Rob's work laid him off. It was rather upsetting, because it was a surprise. Oh well. So, the last 6 weeks Rob has been franticly looking for a new job. He was able to do freelance work to bring money in to pay the bills, which has been nice. This past Monday he received a phone call from a company in California called CafeFX. It's a well known visual effects company. It is located in Santa Maria. They were interested in hiring him for a full time position. He did not know the program that they use to do the visual effects so they wanted to try him out for 6 weeks. They offered to pay his housing to come out and everything.
At the same time he also had a job interview for a video game company in SLC. It was closer to home and we could stay in UT. Well this was the hardest decision he has ever made. He chose to stay in Utah and work for the video game company. Well thats the short version of the past 6 weeks, but it describes it well. As for the rest of our life. It hasn't been too bad. Abby is hilarious most of the time. I have new pictures and videos I'd like to show you

Also Abby says so many words now. Let me see if I can make a list of what she can say.
1.) Ma Ma ( this on is not new but she can say it.)
2.) Da Da
3.) Drink
4.) Ba Ba
5.) uh oh!
6.) bye
7.) Hi
8.) Grandma (she says moo ma)
9.) Grandpa ( she says Pa Pa)
10) eye (she points to your eye)
11) book
12) this
13) ball

She knows these words but can't say them:
1.) Down stairs
2.) hug
3.) kisses
4.) loves
5.) dolly
6.) pony
7.) clean up
8.) food
9.) bath time
10) ear
11) mouth
12) nose
13) hair
14) toes
15) outside
16) put away
17) shoes
18) come on
19) done
20) rubber ducky
21) Ann (her dolls name)
22) Molly (her dolls name)
23) Fisher (her toys name)
24) Teddy
25) No No
26) dance
27) push it ( as in buttons)
28) phone
29) Grandpa bear ( this is the bear that Rob got from his Grandpa Allred shirts. She only gets to hug it when she is upset or sick, but it calms her down when she does)
30) Nighty night
31) blanky

I am sure that there are more but I can't think of any more. If I do I will add them. I just thought this would be fun to see how many words she can say.

Abby had her first birthday on Friday. I tried to make it special for her but everything that I tried to do was ether closed or they didn't have what I was looking for. I tried to take her to the Mall because she loves to play at the play area, she also loves to play with children. They had temporarily removed it from the Mall for an MTV movie they are filming there. The other Mall in Utah county is replacing there play area because of water damage so they have been closed for a while. That was a let down. So then I decided to go and by her a Happy Birthday balloon so that she could play with it. The dollar store in Spanish Fork was all out of Helium so we couldn't do that. So finally I just settled with regular colored balloons. I blew them up and just let her kick them around and throw them. She sure loved it and thought that it was the greatest thing in the world. I bought a pack of 18 and blew all but one up. She still plays with them everyday. So it all turned out to be a great birthday for her.
Then On Saturday my parents came up and we had cake and ice cream. Abby loved it. we gave her a whole slice for herself. She got some great presents. From Grandma and Grandpa Field she got two hair bows and a head band (very cute) She also got a mini player that plays music. Kathleen and Bekah there is a video of her opening the present it's too big to upload onto blogger sorry. But it's on our computer so you can look at it that way. It's in the videos file folder and 12 months file inside of that one. For everyone else this is a video of Abby giggling. i thought you might enjoy this.
For her birthday she also got Cinderalla the Disney Movie and a my little pony. She also got this cute barn that my Mom made. It has little animals that are fabric and stuffed. Rob and I gave her some books. She loves to read. She also got some really cute hair pieces that Amy and Nicole made on Saturday. They are so cute. I counted them and there are a total of 33. She will have plenty of cute pieces to put in her hair. I love them you guys thank you so very much. Well that is about it for Abby's Birthday. It was fantastic.

Abby playing Peek-A-Boo!

She has such a big personality now. She will just randomly give me kisses on the cheek and she will blow kisses at people. She also does this silly smile. It's so cheesy. She is a funny kid. She loves to be the center of attention. So when she knows she has peoples attention she will start acting cute. She will even fake laugh to get everyone to laugh back. She also walks up to me and leans in then starts to gibber jabber to me like she knows a secret or something. It is so funny.
Rob and I subscribed to the newspaper for the coupons and I look at the adds everyday. Now Abby when ever I am reading the adds she will take one that I am not looking at anymore and hold it up like I was and move her head around like she is looking at all of the adds. She just loves to copy everything that I do. It is so funny. Just today I was loading the dishwasher and she put her doll in it. I guess she thought that she needed to be washed. She will even pull the laundry out of the dryer for me. She is a little helper.
She moves so fast sometimes while walking that it looks like she is trying to run. She knows how to climb off of your lap. She can climb off of the couch but I don't let her do it. She has learned so much in the last little bit. They learn so fast its amazing.

This is a video of her watching the snow flakes. She loves the snow. She will walk to the front door and start hitting it trying to tell me that she wants to go outside. So I will get her all dressed ( mind you she cries while I put her coat on and gloves and hat) then we will go outside and she will just walk around. She cant really play in the snow yet but she tries. Oh well she will learn.
Can you believe that she will almost be one. In a month she will be one. Wow time sure flies.

Abby has a molar!! That makes 6 almost 7 teeth.

So Abby has had this big bump on the top right side of her mouth on her gum. It has a purplish black spot on it. After researching it out she has a molar that is trying to come in. It has been causing her a lot of pain. I was looking at her gums one day to see if anymore are coming in and she has another molar that has already cut through on the top left. She doesn't even have all of her front teeth yet. Thats ok though. She also doesn't really gag herself anymore. Thank heavens for that. She now is yelling at us and doesn't like the food I try to feed her. She just throws it all on the floor. I just keep offering it to her though because I do not want her to think she can just eat what ever she wants. She is getting enough to eat so no need to worry she just throws it off her tray until she realizes that I am not going to give her something else. Then she will eat it.
About the yelling. The other day, she was throwing a fit while I was feeding her food. She kept yelling in her booster seat so I assumed that she was done eating. I took her out and gave her a bath. She cried the whole time , she loves her baths too so it was weird. I took her out and Rob came in to investigate what was going on. She immediately started pointing at him. So I gave her to Rob. She started yelling Ma.. Ma...Ba... Ba... Ma... Ma... Ba... Ba... over and over and Rob pointed it out. So I got her dressed and made her a bottle and she calmed right down. Sometimes I sure wish that she could just talk so that I can just give her what she wants.
That is about all for now.

Abby and the snow

We took a video of when we introduced Abby to the snow. When I get it to upload I will show you all She wasn't quite sure what to think at first. She really can't play with it much right now. But I have let her see it several times.
I also took Abby to the Festival of Trees in Utah. It was neat but we only made it through the big trees before we were done. They had 750 trees. Thats just the trees, they had wreaths and gingerbread houses and small trees and decorations for Christmas, all that you can buy and the money goes to Primary Children's Medical Center. Here are some of the trees at it. I wish that I had taken pictures of the more interesting looking trees. There was all kinds of stuff that people put with there tree. One person had a baby tree that was decorated with all kinds of baby stuff. They put around the tree a crib, changing table, bassinet, stroller, etc. Pretty much anything that you could possibly need for a baby, clothing, etc. Everything that is around the tree goes with the tree. So who ever bought it got that stuff. There was also beds (full size beds) nice once too. It was a mazing the things that people did with there trees. There was even an upside down tree. It was amazing

I just thought that you guys would like to see Abby blow kisses and wave bye bye. Her bye bye is a little weird we are working on it. She just hasn't grasped the concept that it needs to face the people she is waving to. Its funny, if she doesn't really want to wave at people she will wave at them with the hand that is behind my back when I am holding her. She is less shy though. I don't think that when Dave and Kathleen and Bekah come out that they will cry this time. She seams to like people now.

I also have some fun pictures of her so here you go. She is in the tub. She was being silly so I took some pictures. There are some really funny ones, at least I think so. Oh and I got my hair cut. I cut about 6 inches off of it. So there is a picture of me with Abby that shows my hair. My sister Nicole cut it for me. Its nice having people you know able to cut hair.

Abby has 5 teeth now.

Abby has 5 total teeth. Two on top and three on bottom. She also will give you high five (Rob taught her that one). She can blow kisses to you. She waves bye and hello. She will show a sign to come hear if she wants you to come with her. She will give you kisses on her cheek. She can say baba for bottle and Mama and Dada. She has said bye bye but doesn't really anymore she just waves. She is walking all over the place now.

The dress she is wearing is a dress that Kathleen gave her last time they were out here. It looks so cute on her. It fits her perfect now, which is surprising to me because its an 18 mth dress and she is in 12 mth close. I am glad I tried it on her because it fits her perfect right now. Well that is about it for now. Not much else new.

Tuesday, November 13, 2007

Well I just want to vent to all who love Abby. She has this new thing that she does that DRIVES ME CRAZY! She gags her self to the point of throwing up. She does it like a bulimic person does, with two fingers. Last night I was trying to make dinner and she kept doing it. I was so frustrated so I finally just let her go. She was sitting in her high chair. She threw up 2 times before Rob came home. Then she sat a played in it, so disgusting. Rob seams to think that she has just discovered her gag reflex. Maybe I am mean but I think she does it to rebel. Some babies at this age hold there breath. I think Abby gags herself instead. She has thrown up a total of three times now. It is so frustrating because I have to clean up the stinky stuff. It is a good thing that I love her so very much. She also has her first black eye. She banged her head pretty good on the coffee table the other day. So it is black and blue. Poor Abby. Thats all that is new with Abby.

Wednesday, November 7, 2007

This is a picture of Abby stuck under one of our kitchen chairs. She had crawled in behind it and couldn't figure out how to get back out. The back doesn't have the side bars, like the rest of the sides do. She kept trying to stand up but couldn't and as you can see she is hanging on to the bar and crying. Poor Abby! She hasn't figured out how to crawl backwards out of small spaces. Rob and I laughed for a while we thought it was funny. Anyways maybe thats mean of us but we never considered her getting stuck. Rob couldn't get her to just sit still while he pulled her out. So he had to hold her hand and keep her were she was at so that he could slide the chair over the top of her. What a traumatic experience for Abby. As for everything else. We are good. Not many changes here. Abby is still walking everywhere now and the time change has messed up her schedule. She wants to go to sleep now at 8:30 pm and get up at 5:00 am. Which Rob and I are not good at early mornings. So we are struggling with a grumpy baby as we adjust her sleeping schedule.
This other picture is a picture that I thought was cute. I had just bought these rubber bands for her hair so i thought I would try them out. I like the look on her face I think its cute. Oh and one last thing Abby got her two top teeth probably 4 to 6 weeks ago. Sorry I forgot to tell you all.

We went to the Mall today to play!

Click to play

My neighbor Cami invited us to go with her to the Mall. Abby loved it. She played (well kindof played) with her son Parker. It was good to get out and we had a lot of fun. Here are some picuters of her on some of the things that we played with.
