Well good news I think that I have finally gotten Abby to sleep through the night on a regular bases. Watch now that I say that she will not sleep good tonight. oh well we will see. I several different techniques, but nothing seam to work for Abby. I tried just letting her cry it out for almost 2 weeks. That didn't work she just got worse. So I stopped doing that. Then I tried sitting next to her one night to let her know that I was there. I patted her back and everything. She just sat up in her crib with her eyes close rocking as if she couldn't keep herself up but refusing to lay down. She did this for two hours. I even tried just laying her down and she just sat right back up. I tried laying down in her crib with her (that was uncomfortable)
I even asked the doctor about it when I went to her check up. I told him what I had tried and he said that every baby is different and that he had to let his first child cry for 4 and a half hours 3 nights in a row. Then he cried for 10 minutes every night for a year after that. Well after lots of prayer I had a thought what if I try to get her to take better naps during the day and maybe she will learn that she needs to sleep through the night. So I just put her in her crib when it was nap time and let her fuss. She didn't cry she just kept saying Mom...Mom...Mom... over and over again. Finally she gave up and went to sleep. Well that was 3 days ago and now she is sleeping through the night. Who would have guessed. I just assumed that she didn't need long naps during the day. Well she has slept for at least 9 hours each night with out waking me up. She fusses once each time she would get up before, but just once then goes back to sleep. Its more like an adjustment sound. If that makes sense. What a relief, can I just say.
